We were in Cleethorpes last night where Faryl was one of the guests on "That Glorious Noise" headlined by Russell Watson in aid of Muscular Dystrophy.

We had several showers in the hour before the show but we were fortunate that it was dry before start time.

It was an excellent night's entertainment and Faryl was fantastic. She performed 3 songs in the first half and 2 more in the second. The setlist didn't fit in with the programme and my memory is struggling for all 5 songs but I can say the first half included Ave Maria and Amazing Grace with the second half including Danny Boy.

Faryl's delivery is improving all the time and her confidence performing in front of the audience seems to be growing nicely. Her chats with the audience are well-delivered (even if some of the material was 'borrowed' from a certain Miss Jenkins :))

Very much enjoying watching this young lady develop.

wooow i love Faryl she is amazing glad you both had a good time lucky I saw her and Katherine at the Royal Albert Hall in 2008 one word amazing I hope they are both at the brits in May as I am standing by the redcarpet

As Angela and Jackie have said, a wonderful concert in Huddersfield on Saturday evening by Faryl and the Skelmanthorpe Brass Band.
Faryl is certainly going from strength to strength, and her vocal is astounding for one so young. A very confident young lady, now more at ease on stage in front of the audience, she is becoming an excellent performer.
Her first set of 4 songs in the first half were Amazing Grace, River of Light, Ave Maria and Night of Silence.
The second half set were, Hymn to the Moon, Danny Boy, Barcarolle and The Prayer. She finished off at the end with Finlandia (Be Still My Soul).
It was lovely to get the added bonus after the concert of Faryl kindly taking the time to sign programmes etc and have a few words in conversation.
Great to meet up with Angela and Jackie, which was a complete surprise!!...Thanks for your company ladies, and for the drink afterwards.

We had the pleasure of seeing young Faryl at Huddersfield Town Hall yesterday evening in a concert arranged by a local brass band 'Skelmanthorpe' who had heard that they had reached into the top 20 bands in the UK. Faryl sang 8 songs durng the show and then joined the band at the end for 'Finlandia'. She is going from strength to strength. Also she happily sat in the town hall entrance after the show to meet the audience and sign programmes etc. She is a lovely girl.

Also Jackie and myself had a great suprise as we spotted Sir Gary sat on the front row of the audience with 2 spare seats beside him, therefore in the interval dashed to see him and spent the rest of the show with him (plus going for a nightcap after) Thank you for your company Gary.

Faryl had both of her albums in the top 30 best sellers for 2009. "Faryl" was at number four and "Wonderland" at number eighteen. As "Wonderland had only been on release for about a month I think that was pretty good.:)

Good news! I have Faryls last album which I enjoyed! She has done exceptionally well saying she did not actually win Britains Got Talent-but it was always on the cards that a singer would do better than a dancer in the long run.

I have to agree with the comments of others, a quite amazing album from Faryl, with a maturity to her voice I was'nt quite expecting! An excellent tracklist throughout, I think the entire album is great!....Well Done Faryl!! :)

I have the first album of Faryl,( a souvenir from my vacation last summer in Wales). An Amazing voice for a girl so young. I hope that her family, and management take good care of Faryl, Greetings, groetjes.

A giant stride forward with this album i think. Its amazing how much Faryl's voice has matured since her first album. This is a lady with a great future ahead of her.
My favourite tracks on first listen are:-

Merry Xmas Mr Lawrence, Night Of Silence, Hymn To the Moon and Adiemus.
I thoroughly recommend it for your Xmas present list.

Johnathan Ansell seems to have the Marmite reaction with people , but I agree that since I saw him perform last year at The Symphony Hall, I have great respect for him as a performer , and was in awe of his vocal range.
You were lucky to have seen him with Faryl, two great singers together.:)

Thanks for the report Dazza, sounds like a great night, with some wonderful music.
Faryl seems to be gaining greatly in confidence and experience. Her next album should be great. I've never listened much to Jonathan Ansell, as G4 were never my cup of tea either, but have heard good reports since he went solo.

Hi Everyone,

Last night I went to see Faryl Smith performing alongside Jonathan Ansell at the Victoria Hall here in Stoke. I don't want to write the same report in two different threads so I will say everything here.

Faryl was wonderful, one thing I noticed is that she seemed to have a lot more confidence than when I have seen her before, talking to the audience more. She performed her new song 'Wonderland' which will be on her new album, her performances of Ave Maria, Amazing Grace and River of Light were also fantastic.

It was the first time I had really heard Jonathan Ansell, I really disliked G4 after they completely destroyed Bohemian Rhapsody and Life on Mars so I have never really followed him but I was extremely impressed last night, he has a fantatstic vocal range.

His accoustic version of Pour Mon Ame without a microphone or any electrical accompaniment at all was superb. The highlight for me though has to have been Faryl & Jonathan singing 'The Prayer' together.

They were accompanied by the fantastic Pavao Quartet, Al Gurr on the piano and guitarist A.J Moore who I have seen before at Hayley Westenra concerts.

I took my camera but decided not to take any pictures and just enjoy the concert. I had a great evening and it was great to meet up with Sally too.
