Hi all

I,ve been a regular visitor on the "Favourite Song" thread for a few months now and notice as well as myown selections, how peoples choice of song changes from time to time, for whatever reason, our mood at the time maybe?
So i took it on myself for absolutely no purpose whatsoever, to compile a chart of peoples song selections tracing back by month to January this year from the previous Forum. To me it made interesting reading so i thought i'd share it with you.

Of Katherines performances on her 7 CD's and 3 DVD's there are only 4 titles from this entire collection which haven't featured on the Favourite Song thread.

The National Anthem which Katherine sang on the Llangollen DVD
The Worm Song (How could we ignore that) from the Viva La Diva DVD

I'll let you try and guess the other 2 whilst you carry on reading:

The most popular song chosen by Month is as follows:-

January - Abide with Me, Hallelujah and The Prayer each featured 7 times.
February - You'll Never Walk Alone (7)
March - Hallelujah (12)
April - Abide With Me and Agnus Dei (11)
May - Una Voce Poca Fa (14)
June - Una Voce Poca Fa (13)
July - Una Voce Poca Fa (11)
August - Hallelujah and The Godfather (6)
Sept - I Believe (16)
Oct - I Believe (19)

So now for the totals up to and including 31st Oct. "Lets call it" The Forum Top 20?

1 Una Voce Poca Fa 68
2 Hallelujah 64
3 Abide With Me 49
4 The Godfather 48
5 Time To Say Goodbye 47
Pie Jesu 47
7 I Will Always Love You 45
8 Nella Fantasia 44
9 Agnus Dei 40
I Will Pray for You 40
11 Song To The Moon 37
12 The Prayer 36
Viva Tonight 36
Secret Love 36
Rejoice 36
16 I Believe 35
17 O Mio Babbino Caro 32
Calon Lan 32
19 Canto Della Terra 30
20 I Who Have Nothing 28

Followed closely with 27 is Bring Me To Life

So there we have it (Our No 1 choice has never appeared on any of Katherines CD's)

If there's anybody out there who, like me, has nothing better to do in their spare time and would like any additional information regarding my compilation let me know.

So now to those 2 "unchosen" titles

One is from the Katherine In The Park DVD and was the duet with Juan Diego Florez entitled
"Non Ti Scordar Di Me.
The other was from the Living A Dream album and is called Ebben Ne Andro Lontana.

Hope you found this of interest

Best wishes

regards

Tony

Thanks Tony.
That is very interesting and sure enough a lot of hard work.
There are some songs very well rated like Una Voce Poco Fa which is not among my favourites as interpreted by Katherine and some songs which are very good I think but not rated so high.
I think Bring Me To Life has potential to grow, however it might be impacted by the fact that it is not what you would call a classical song.
I consider that this song and video is and will be promoted to reach it's maximum audience, unlike an extremely good video Rejoice which was completely ignored by the previous recording company.
Expected positions in your chart for some very good songs Hallelujah, Godfather Theme and Time To Say Goodbye.
Before finishing this long analysis of your chart, I'd like to say that I mentioned Non Ti Scordar Di Me in a remember post in the old forum at the first anniversary of the Kathfest. I enjoyed a lot that duet of Katherine with her special guest Juan Diego Florez, watching from the central seats first row live.

What a clever idea Tony to compile such a chart! Not surprised that Una Voce Poco Fa was at the top,a strong favourite of ours! Wish Katherine had recorded it on one of her albums!

Best wishes,
Jenny and John.

Hi Tony

A very interesting read indeed.  Una Voce Poco Fa, seems to be a firm favourite, in the months when the summer concert season was in full flow!

Thanks for taking the time to compile the list.

All the best
Graham

Hi Tony

That is a really interesting compliation chart . I am sure that Katherine would be interested .

It will only reflect the favourites of those who vote , of course , and there are many regulars to the favourite song thread .

So how did House of No Regrets fare?, was I the only one voting for my favourite song of all time?
