Hi Everyone,

I have just listened to it and I am not sure about it yet, I am sure it will grow on me though.

The problem I have is that I really disliked the original version by Evanescence, partially thanks to a sister who played it non stop around the time it was out. If there was a topic on worst songs ever it would be safe to say that 'Bring Me To Life' by Evanescence would be quite high on my list.

Listening to Katherine's version her voice was beautiful and the opening lines haunting, but even with Katherine singing I just kept thinking of the original and half expecting it to break out into gothic metal rock at any time.

Hopefully this will be a grower.

Hi Dazza

Sounds like the sister is to blame here then mate!

Must admit, I didn't particularly like the original version, Katherine's version is much different.  I suspect that this track may be like 'Kiss From A Rose' on Rejoice, which divided opinion on the forum.  Personally, I loved Kiss From A Rose.

A bit like Marmite, I guess you either love it or hate it!

All the best
Graham

Hi Graham,

'Kiss from a Rose' is probably my least favourite Katherine song. Also from Rejoice, 'I Will Pray For You' intitially always reminded me of Fairytale of New York, which I quite like anyway but after a few plays I soon stopped making the connection.

Hopefully a similar scenario will happen here, after I have listened a few times I will think of 'Bring me to Life' as a Katherine Jenkins song without thinking about the original.

I love Marmite

Hi Dazza

Let's hope so, after a few listens I am sure you will grow to like Katherine's version and forget about your sister brainwashing you with the original.

Good choice with the Marmite, I love it to!

All the best
Graham

Oh my goodness! I heard it on the video on the main page! I didn't even realise it was Katherine singing at first! So shocked! I think it's amazing though! I prefer it to the original song.

It sounds amazing, a great preview of the new album. I recorded the programme on my dvd recorder so listened when I got home.

I need to hear it over and over again!
I'm just waiting in anticipation for it to be released for download or something.
I think it's so beautiful!
