I went to Manchester last night really looking forward to seeing Katherine Jenkins, having seen her four time before. Her singing i thought was brilliant, as usual, but all them dancers? The first time they came on. I could not see her sing because of the girl in a bobble hat standing in front of her! and the wheel barrow with the flowers?? what was that all about?? and the man who kept winding up the clock?
Having moaned about that, the Carmen songs and dancing were very good. We had just seen Carmen the night before in Llandudno and kept trying to remember which bits were which(I am one of those peope who love the story being flashed accross on a screen so that you know what is being sung)
I also thought it was very good when the man was doing his bit on the rope.Brave girl joining in and flying around!
Did anyone else expect the half hour wait inbetween Escala and Katherine? We had only just sat down??!! I thought they played very well, but have decided I must be a grumpy old woman, because I began to feel irritated at there silly movements, quite good the first few times, but then........(My husband, like most men loved the short skirts and long legs!)
The young boy who sang was very good, does anyone remember his name?
I really enjoy seeing Katherine sing, but all in all I thought last nights show was a bit too Americanised.
I think the other people's pictures are good, but seeing peoples phone/camera screens coming on all the time is distracting and don't get me started on the subject of people getting up and moving around!!!
I really sound like a grumpy old woman!!! I am not old at all-honest! but cannot get away from sounding grumpy!! Was it just me?? Looking forward to replies with some trepidation!!

Hi Kim,
We like your honesty and agree with you about the half hour wait between Escala and Katherine. That was pointless, why have the only interval at the beginning of the show!
We did love the show though (we saw it at Bournmouth) and thought Katherine was amazing but did miss her raport with the audience as there did not seem as much as in previous shows, also no questions and answers this time which are always a hoot!
The tenor was called Amaury Vassili and he is obviously going to go a long way,he was excellent!
Best wishes
Jenny and John.

| Hi Kim Thanks for your honest opinion of the show My wife agrees about the photos and I sometimes get a nudge myself If I am annoying anyone I stop, put the camera away and enjoy the show....until the end Dancers in the way may be down to your seating position, Where were you sat? I remember complaints about reflective lights on the perspex for Viva La Dive which was altered due to feedback

Hello Kim,
I had a few viewing problems with the dancers but never for longer than a minute or so.
I do agree that the dancers were quite distracting sometimes and it was difficult most of the time to feel a strong 'connection' with Katherine and her voice because there was so much going on.

| A different, but nevertheless an intersting view of the show than we have seen to date. I suppose this highlights some of the big differences between putting on a concert at a "normal" more intimate concert venue and and a large arena. It tends to be the case with arena concerts that they are unlikely to be a very intimate experience with the performer and therefore by their very nature are far more lavish as a production. It will be the case that some people will love this while others will be less keen. I do share your views on photography, which to be fair in most cases is done very discreetly and without any annoyance and also allows us to share the concert experience. I suspect that the trouble is with camera and video phones which, of course, shine a distracting light back, it seems that when the concert is in an arena that the problem has become too hard to manage. Regards Paul

I went to Manchester last night. The only time i couldn't see Katherine was for about 30 seconds during who wants to live forever. With being a dancer myself i suppose i loved that aspect of the show and i think that Katherines voice outshone all of the stuff going on around her which is what makes her truely amazing.
I can't wait for the picniccy concert on the 18th June xx

| All gigs that I've been to have always had a half hour wait between the support act and the main act. So that didn't surpirse me at all, I'm pretty used to it and always expect them!
