| A splendid report Sir Tony with some Fabulous pictures. Poor DameJulieihaveapoorlyhandkins, I hope she could still clap Nice to hear of Sir Jim and that one of the Master Len's were in attendance I've seen Natasha at the Classical Brits but not in a full concert, I will keep an eye out as her Brecon born talent deserves support. No Ice Cream!! Shame on the organisers, I'm glad that the Lager helped with your thirst. Thank you
Johnp

Hi Tony,
What fab photos, thank you for those. Thank you also for your navigation expertise and the half of lager MORE than made up for the lack of ice-cream, although I would happily have enjoyed both albeit not simultaneously!
It was also great to catch up with Jim and Len too. Come on Jim get your photos posted! x
Hi John,
Thank you for your concern, yes clapping was tricky but I managed it..just! You know me enough to know I love making noise eh???
I was incapacited slightly on my right hand due to a fight with a vase on Tuesday that Matty had accidentally broken and I ended up having the stab wound glued together at hospital! I then had the wind put up me as to the possibility of infection if I dared to get the dressing wet! Gulp!...
During my long wait to be glued back together (yes I did feel like Humpty Dumpty although I am slightly slimmer hee hee) I realised someone is looking down on me and my family as the irony of just missing the tendons of my hand were not lost on me, as I am right handed so I was very lucky indeed, but had I not been so lucky there may have been 2 of us out of work in our house! Double Gulp!!!
If you ever get the chance to see Natasha - Go for it - she was absolutely superb and sung some wonderful songs as well as duetting with Nicky.
Hi all,
Well we arrived in Greenwich and had an enjoyable walk around before the concert. Tony excitedly got Mum and I to trek up the hill to see the Meridian line at the top and I laughed as I told him I didn't need to be dragged up a hill to see it as it goes through East Grinstead and I have seen it before!! Bless him, he tried .. Although we don't have the laser seen at night as Greenwich does, but we didn't get to see that unfortunately..
The Royal Naval College was a very grand place to hold a concert in my view, it was stunning and beautiful and of course historic too.
A gentleman (sorry can't remember his name and we have no programme to refer to!) in a tartan jacket came on and told some quite clever poems and then the concert began. The Royal Philharmonic Concert orchestra were absolutely excellent and they played an awful lot of numbers, although they were all played with excellence.
As Tony has said Nicky Spence appeared on the Llangollen DVD as a guest of Katherine's and he was also superb and in fine voice. He was very comical in between songs and at one point when Natasha was explaining the story being about 2 lovers for a particular song she said we had to ignore the fact that she had a large bump due to being pregnant with twins. Nicky then said he wished he could explain his tummy bump so well!
Natasha and Nicky played well off each other along with the conductor and they all really seemed to be enjoying sharing a stage with each other. She wore 2 beautiful dresses as you can see from Tony's pics and they did well to cover her bump quite cleverly too! She sang absolutely wonderfully and her voice is quite amazing and it has definitely spurred me on to make a point of seeing her again as soon as I can.
Photographically speaking my efforts are a bit rubbish, but I have posted the few that I feel are the best of the bunch. Hope you like....
Here is the man who read his poems....

Here is Natasha....

Here is Nicky.....

Here are some inflatable daisies that were illuminated at each side of the stage which I liked, but remember I don't get out much, before you judge me too harshly!!!!

Hi Juliekins
Another splendid selection of photos from your good self and taken "single handed" too .
How do you manage to get so close with some of your shots and keep everything in focus, my camera starts to shake when i try(perhaps it's age related???).
Thanks once again for yours and mums company.
regardsTony

Hi all,
Firstly, many thanks to Sir Tony and Dame Juliekins for your reports and fantasic photos!
I travelled up to the venue with Len and met up with Sir Tony and Dame Juliekins and mum after taking some photos of Natasha and Nicky doing their sound check. As always, many thanks for the pleasure of your company! After a few directions from security we finally took up pole postition in the queue and were the only ones there until about 10-15 minutes prior to the gates opening. I was a little confused as to the seating arrangements as the confirmation e-mail I got from Ticketmaster showed that I'd been allocated a seat but was then told that there would be seating for hire.
As Forum members know, going to outdoor shows means a mad dash for prime position. As soon as the gates opened, we quickly purchased our seats and made our way to the front. Not that we had to rush, there was none of the usual jostling for position. As soon as we got seated, it was quicly noticed that the five of us stuck out like a sore thumb. There wasn't anyone even close! However, as time went on there was a constant trickling of people coming through the gates so eventually, as the concert began we felt a lot less like outcasts!
The venue itself was absolutely stunning, almost as good as the concert itself. What started as a sunny day turned quite rapidly quite chilly as the night drew in. I just thank goodness I had the foresight to bring along my Believe fleece! I'd only seen Natasha live once before dueting with Alfie Boe at the Classical Brits a few years ago and this was the first time I'd seen Nicky live. Natasha looked absolutely blooming being six months pregnant with twins, and Nicky looked like he'd put on a few pounds here and there since his performance on the Llangollen DVD! But he did make light of it by joking about it. The Royal Philarmonic Concert Orchestra were absolutely fantastic, as well as Elvis McGonagall (thanks John!) who has me, for one, smiling at his poems!
By way of an encore, they both came back and duetted Brindisi from La Traviata which, funnily enough was what she sang with Alfie at the only other time I saw her live.
Anyway, here come the photos. Hope you enjoy!

And finally, I thought I'd get a shot of Canary Wharf from where we were. If you look at the opening titles of Viva La Diva, you'll see the O2 appear to the right of the screen from behind it looking south over the Thames. This is from looking at it from about the same position, but looking north over the Thames.

Regards,
Jim

So many thanks for posting and it was great to share such a great evening with you and the rest of the team again. All the best till next time

Hi Sir Jim,
Wow..your photos are absolutely superb, thank you and very well done that man..I mean Sir!
It was great to see you again and as usual we had a blast and a good old gossip didn't we? You were also right that them there chips wot you had were absolutely divine (if that is not a contradiction in terms??? )...
It was so funny seeing you take my Mum on every time she kept trying to hide your Believe T-shirt with your coat in case it was seen as being disloyal to Natasha! You were hysterical, but as usual you took the teasing so well!
My Mum was really impressed with Natasha, and she thoroughly enjoyed herself, and she really enjoyed chatting with you, so thank you.
