I have just returned from an amazingly brilliant concert at the Usher Hall. Katherine was on top form and having a great time.

She sang from the normal tour programme but added "I Will Pray For You" which she dedicated to the troops and said that she is planning her next visit later in the year. She had a tickle in her throat during this and had to stop to cough and have a drink of water. Once she recovered she started again and sang superbly.

"Una Voce Poca Fa" was again well received by the appreciative audience as was "Pie Jesu". It is very hard to pick out a favourite as the full programme was wonderful.

She had the usual Q&A session and a few new items were covered and Derek sneaked in again. During this she was asked to sing "Amazing Grace" as she was in Scotland and, of course, she obliged to resounding applause. Katherine's whole performance was excellent and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute.

After "Time To Say Goodbye" she got a standing ovation so rounded off with "We'll Meet Again" and got a second well deserved standing ovation.

The four dresses were those seen on prior concerts but she was looking just as stunning as ever.

There were two supporting acts ( both currently studying at Edinburgh University ). The first was Alexandra Wellbourn, a saxophonist and the second was Claudia Banks, a flautist. Both were very good but I definitely preferred the flautists performance.

Anthony Inglis was on form also but this time was conducting the Royal Scottish National Orchestra who did a sterling job with the music.

There was no photography allowed in the Auditorium so i just concentrated on enjoying the concert.

So a big Thank You to Katherine for another superb performance!!

I will try to post more tomorrow (or should that be later today) when I get back down from the clouds!!

I had a great night - and I am sure that everyone in the audience would say the same.

Pam

I was also at the concert last night, thought the show was fantastic.

I could have sat through it all again last night.

And to have an orchestra like the RSNO performing, makes it all the more special.

Could somebody please give me the setlist for the show as I cannot remember all the names of the songs and the order they were in.
I would like to make a playlist on my ipod of the night.

Pam

Such dedication I have been floating somewhere on cloud nine all day trying to put my feelings for last night into words.

A few Observation That was the best I had ever heard Katherine sing the Rossini. Hopefully she will add some Mozart and other arias before to long

The balance between Katherine and a full symphony orchestra was spot on It was a truly amazing experience

The Q & A with the impromptu performance of Amazing Grace was superb and should Katherine's real class. This is a world wide star and she can still be the girl next door.

Last night was the first Meet and greet for myself and while i had been thinking of all the things to say my brain just stopped when the time came. I was totally amazed that after such a performance she could look so fresh and cool only 15 mins afterwards.

A few people to thank Warner bros for so skillfully managing the meet and greet when faced with a bigger than expected group

Oliver for taking the time and trouble to introduce himself
All the Diamond CLub members who were in front of us allowing Katie and I to move to the front of the queue so that we could catch the train back to Glasgow!! (yes we floated down to the station and got the train)

One final thought I have been to about 9 of Katherine's concerts and would have to say that was the best that I have ever heard her voice. We are all extremely fortunate to be have the pleasure of seeing and listening to her.

Many thanks for your report Pam, it sounds as though you had a most enjoyable evening.  I was at Tatton Park last night to see Natasha Marsh and The Halle, which was an excellent show, which ended with a bang!  The fireworks were great.

All the best
Graham

Last night was the first time I've ever been to see Katherine Jenkins perform and I was blown away by the performance. Her singing was pure joy. For about half an hour after finishing I felt like I was in shell shock I felt so overwhelmed by the beauty of the music. The Godfather theme was particularly breathtaking. The woman beside me was in tears after Katherine sang at the end We'll meet again. I wouldn't normally spend the amount of money I did on an evening but it was worth every penny. Her performance will stay with me for a long time and I would recommend anyone who likes this kind of music to go and see Katherine at least once as they won't regret it. I had considered going down south to hear her but decided it was too much, and then I found out she would be at the Usher Hall and I was over the moon. Thank you to Katherine for gracing our fair capital and country with her singing and for such a wonderful evening. Perhaps one day we might hear her sing "Ae Fond Kiss" by Rabbie Burns.
